Job Summary:
Directs the Community Investment Capital (CIC) market activities for an assigned geographic segment of the Synovus Bank footprint. Responsible for executing the Wholesale strategy to increase loan, investment and deposit relationships with commercial real estate developer who have aggregate credit requirements greater than $20MM. Responsible for marketing to select customers and prospective relationships who have the requisite experience in community development. Encourages a culture of cooperation and cross-sell expectations with the Retail, Community and FMS Banking Groups.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Works with the Sr. Director to lead the execution of effective strategies designed to capture new CIC business, emphasizing high-income relationships and large, complex customer prospect relationships. Monitors and manages portfolio goals and growth to ensure that bankers are focused on producing $100MM to $150MM annually in new loan and investment volume. Ensures the CIC Banking strategy is aligned with and supports the overall Synovus corporate strategy.
* Identifies market opportunities that are consistent with the strategy of the business and takes appropriate action to capitalize on those opportunities. Partners with the Credit Risk Management teams to ensure the appropriate level of risk assessments are being performed on all potential business activities, and that all risks identified are being mitigated in accordance with standard operating procedures. Partners with Tax and Finance areas to assure that investment opportunities and tax credits align with corporate objectives on tax advantaged investments. Partners with CRA partners to insure investments assist in reaching bank investment and lending goals.
* Employs established methods or techniques in the analysis of financial data. Uses knowledge of financial data, including history, strengths, and weaknesses, to evaluate potential solutions to situations. Develops, implements, and monitors action plans to ensure the attainment of financial goals. Uses objective financial and business analyses to evaluate the returns and risks of business choices. Analyzes and integrates trends and patterns to determine the root causes of problems and identify solutions. Evaluates short and long-term implications of decisions. Accurately forecasts growth, costs, and business challenges. Keeps abreast of changes in state housing agency standards, and overall industry standards for underwriting.

Ensures CIC Bankers receive the communication and instruction needed to act in accordance with policies and procedures. Serves as a credible spokesperson, representative, and sponsor of the company to the public and the community.
* May consult with the Human Resources to develop and implement strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning and supporting associate efforts in these areas. Keeps HR informed about strategic business plan initiatives that requires HR support.
* Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
* Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Education:
* Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field
Minimum Experience:
* Ten years of job specific work experience with demonstrated professional growth and achievement in an organization of comparable size, business diversity, scope and complexity
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
* Minimum of 10 years proven and progressive CIC lending /investment experience Manages successful relationships with senior executives, regulators, key stakeholders and customers
* Extensive experience in the areas of loan structuring and approval, credit analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management
* Experience developing loan strategy and credit policies
* Advanced knowledge of credit review tools and their applications
* Advanced knowledge of federal and state credit regulations
* Experience implementing enterprise-wide initiatives
