- Directs staff, leaders and programs for the Ambulatory Division. Oversees and coordinates all activities and clinical operations of the ambulatory service areas of responsibility. Provides administrative leadership guidance for multiple clinical practices in partnership with medical directors, operations leadership, clinical leads and/or other physician and front line management. Responsible for directing the successful development, implementation and growth of the ambulatory clinical operation divisional areas, resulting in high quality outcomes, and cost effective performance. Serves as a clinical administrative liaison for all related ambulatory division activities, projects and programs. Works closely with organizational departments, executive leadership, financial planning, and key medical leadership on execution of the organizational ambulatory division strategic plan. Works closely with the Vice Presidents, Medical Directors and Clinic Administrators to improve clinic functions and flow, ensures quality patient outcomes, enhances the patient experience, and ensures staff and leadership training and competency while ensuring strategic initiatives are developed and maintained to align with organizational objectives.

- Qualifications
- Education
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Preferred:: Master’s degree in nursing or related field
- Licensure/Certification
- Required: California RN, NP or PA license; American Heart Association BLS
- Preferred: Lean process improvement certification
- Experience
- Required: Five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative management experience of a multi-physician practice organization, preferably managed by a health system
- Preferred: Experience in Ambulatory Care Clinic; experience managing hospital owned and licensed outpatient service departments; experience with Lean process improvement

- Essential Job Specific Responsibilities
- Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
- Serves as a clinical administrative resource to leaders and staff and is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the delivery of service within ambulatory division areas of oversight.
- Collaborates with medical staff VPs and Directors, executive leadership, clinic and department directors, practice managers and staff at all levels to develop goals, objectives, and strategy plans for continued growth and development of the ambulatory division areas of oversight.
- Evaluates and understands the market and competition to attain strategic initiatives and assists marketing and executive leadership in developing a plan for expanding ambulatory services.
- Develops and expands the referral base within strategic plans for ambulatory areas of oversight.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships among, staff, leadership, and physicians through direct and indirect efforts to recruit, and retain staff, and provides staff resources for clinic division services.
- Responsible for planning, organizing, controlling, and directing the staffing department for the ambulatory division, facilitating recruitment of clinical resources to provide qualified staff to the physicians/surgeons to enhance and support patient care.
- Communicates regularly with the Chief Administrative Officers, Directors, Practice Managers, and staff, and facilitates regular updates and reports on candidates for hire in collaboration with the Human Resources department.
- Coordinates management oversight of staffing tools, data and reports related to the development of the Staffing Department.
- Works closely with the Education & Informatics Department to successfully develop and oversee implementation of role development tracks, for clinical and ancillary staff across the clinic division.
- Works with stakeholders to gather financial and clinical information to present to Leadership including monthly and annual operational and capital budgets.
- Develops appropriate financial reporting mechanisms within operational teams, analyzes financial and clinical data on a regular basis and reports trends, variances and influences to executive leadership.
- Develops and executes strategy initiatives that improve clinical operations and ensures excellent quality of care.
- Establishes and supports consistent and fair review processes that promote opportunities for self-guided career growth.
- Successfully balances the urgency of achieving goals while building a high performing team and sustainable business practices.
- Assists with collecting, analyzing, evaluating, and presenting clinical management and operations data for achieving the overall goals and objectives.
- May be responsible for ensuring the Staffing Department has the ability to achieve a program that promotes staff growth and longevity from the time of onboarding and that is sustained throughout employment.
- May be responsible for overseeing Lean initiatives and management to operational metrics for areas of oversight.
