PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Director, Card & Payment Product Operations at our Omaha, Nebraska; Papillion, Nebraska; San Antonio, Texas or Eugene, Oregon service center. The primary purpose of this job is to manage the ongoing technical activities of the Payment & Card internal and external platforms and technical operations, production and technical partnerships for the Payment Product Operations organization, supporting new programs and ensuring efficient, timely and accurate processing of all work within related regulations, partner agreements and PenFed policies and procedures.

- Manage the daily end-to-end technical operations and production activities associated with money movement & payment card portfolio processing to include network architecture, product parameters, platform settings and overall delivery of required functionality and infrastructure while maintaining a best in class member experience and operating expense control including associated back office processes.
- Represent all payment & card strategic initiatives as a technical primary point of contact (subject matter expert) for all move movement & payment card portfolio and platform operations. Liaise with PenFed IT, CBTO, Engineering, vendors and other internal partners to support development and technical solutions in support of Payment Product Operations business objectives and PenFed strategic goals. Accountable for end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment and post-production support.
- Provide technical guidance to employees; establishing priorities, providing oversight for complex problems for members and staff and assigning job duties, ensuring that goals and standards are met daily.
- Continually assess technical operations needs; develop and implement system and workflow enhancements that drive improved efficiency, lower operational expense, innovation and superior Member experience.
- Lead 24/7 payment card operations and money movement issue resolution and defect management rigor, routines and response.
- Develop, implement and measure goals, standards, policies and procedures for staff.
- Perform personnel-related duties such as staffing, performance evaluations, training, development and disciplinary actions.
- Establishes measurable individual and team objectives that are aligned with PenFed’s organizational and strategic goals.
- Remain current on all changes to regulations and the systems, ensuring the timely implementation of all revisions.
- Meets regularly with direct reports to ensure high employee engagement; gathers work statuses and discuss progress and impediments; provides advice, guidance, encouragement and constructive feedback.
- Promotes a culture of high-performance, continuous improvement and commitment to quality and accountability.
- Maximize vendor solution capabilities with Mobile first digital experiences while minimizing back-office resources, constraints, and case processing.
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required, Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of twelve (12) years’ of experience with technical components of payment card operations and production environments is required, specifically Fiserv.
- Minimum of four (4) years’ of direct management experience.
- Minimum of four (4) years’ experience managing and leading IT development/product teams.
- Working knowledge developing and delivering solutions within Salesforce, MuleSoft or other Low-Code/No Code platforms.
- Strong leadership capability: Ability to build and influence a high-performing team, as well as business partners across the credit union.
- Strong knowledge of banking/financial industry standards and practices.
- Strong knowledge of the technologies, methodologies and agile frameworks in the development and delivery of IT solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building.
- Effective time management, problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
- Effective presentation skills and the ability to present findings, conclusions and information in a clear and concise manner.
- Requires experience in managing multiple teams/functions and building relationships with people at a variety of levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will directly supervise employees.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.
*Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*
Travel
Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call is required.
