The Director, Business IT Solutions is a transformative thought leader who is results-oriented. This role is pivotal in driving technology-enabled solutions to enhance operational efficiency across various business functions and legal practices. This person will lead a team to identify, design, and implement innovative solutions, leveraging Cloud, AI/ML technologies, and modern software development practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Collaborate with business functions and legal practice areas to understand and address their needs through technology
- Lead a team of Portfolio Managers/Senior Managers in gathering and defining requirements
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of the solutions to execute the vision and strategy, both for the business functions in scope and the legal practice areas
- Implement methodology to track performance of business solutions and monitor effectiveness in partnership with key stakeholders
- Drive digital innovation, adoption, and user experience initiatives
- Lead strategic transformation and digitization initiatives
Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate. Target Salary Range:$300,000 - $380,000 if located in IllinoisQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the Duties and Responsibilities (Duties) above satisfactorily and meet the requirements below. Education and/or Experience:
Required:
- A minimum of 15 years in business and IT leadership, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in digital solutions development
- Bachelor’s degree and relevant certifications
- Ability to work with full stack application architects in at least one of the following enterprise stacks: .Net, Java or Node.js
- Deep understanding of relational database systems such as SQL Server or Oracle
- Familiarity with modern software development best practices such as containerized microservices and REST API
- Familiarity with cloud first development and DevOps techniques in at least one of the following leading cloud providers: Azure, AWS or GCP
- Proven ability to lead cross-enterprise work streams and develop high-performing teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred:
- Experience working with globally dispersed teams and agile methodologies
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related disciplines
- Law firm or Professional services industry experience
