The Director of Business Development and Licensing is responsible for leading the strategy, business development, partnering and licensing functions for a portfolio of innovations at NovelMed Therapeutics, a biotech innovator company. The individual will collaborate closely with Scientists and clinicians in developing and implementing a commercialization strategy for novel complement blockers and will serve as the primary point of contact for NovelMed to an extensive network of external commercial partners, funding sources and peer institutions in advancing the commercialization of NovelMed technologies.
The individual will also lead the development and implementation of partnering and licensing strategies across the portfolio of technologies, including partner due diligence and outreach, directing the development of marketing materials with the support of the scientific and management team. The individual will be responsible for initiating and leading the construction and negotiation of licensing and option agreements and managing relationships with key commercial partners post-agreement execution.
Responsibilities:
- Actively License/Partner NovelMed technologies. Negotiate and execute simple and complex partnerships agreements.
- Work with product development team and innovators to identify and prioritize technologies that are in the internal pipeline and communicate feedback on current industry needs.
- Work with NovelMed Licensing Team on closing license deals
- Collaborating closely with NovelMed inventors and clinicians in developing and implementing a commercialization strategy for NovelMed.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for NovelMed to an extensive network of external commercial partners, funding sources and peer institutions in advancing the commercialization of NovelMed technologies.
- Leading the development and implementation of partnering and licensing strategies across the portfolio of technologies, including partner due diligence and outreach, directing the development of marketing materials with the support of the Marketing and Communications team, and leveraging multiple channels to reach prospects capable of bringing NovelMed technologies to market.
- Initiating and leading the construction and negotiation of licensing and option agreements and managing relationships with key commercial partners post-agreement execution.
- Supporting education and programming for inventors, team members, and leadership on innovation translation and commercialization.
- Working closely with the NovelMed Corporate Strategy team in proactively exploring strategic collaborations with key innovation partners.
Education:
- BS/MS/PhD degree in life or physical sciences, biomedical engineering, finance, business or another related field.
- An advanced degree in business administration (MBA or equivalent).
