Position Overview:
Reporting to the Head of Asset Modeling within the Actuarial department, this role is pivotal within our team of Actuaries, CFA charter holders, and ALM professionals. You will contribute to various aspects including:
- Developing asset models aligned with portfolio management and regulatory requirements.
- Assessing ALM strategies across different accounting regimes.
- Supporting Actuarial, Finance, and Risk teams in pricing, surplus generation, capital adequacy, and risk management.
- Monitoring valuations and reporting internal and external risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create forward-looking financial statements for ALM and risk monitoring across diverse regulatory frameworks (Statutory/GAAP/Economic).
- Conduct asset valuations and modeling for General Accounts, encompassing corporates, structured finance, and alternative asset classes.
- Generate analytics such as net investment income, book yields, and surplus generation.
- Assist in analyzing risks associated with products, including capital markets modeling and product feature reviews.
- Enhance valuation models and reporting capabilities for fixed income and derivatives activities.
- Collaborate with Investment Management, ALM, Treasury, Finance, and Actuarial teams to evaluate ALM and hedge strategies.
- Utilize tools like GGY Axis for new business pricing, capital projections, and liquidity stress testing.
Required Qualifications:
- Understanding of variable and fixed annuity risk and profit profiles across regulatory and accounting frameworks.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with expertise in fixed income assets, pricing models, derivatives, and financial modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in GGY Axis modeling for assets and reinvestments.
- Advanced skills in spreadsheet and database applications; ability to automate tasks using Python, VBA, or SQL.
- Capability to perform under tight deadlines, with a dedication to delivering high-quality work.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and build strong relationships across departments.
- ASA, FSA, CFA, or Masters in Financial Engineering preferred.
- Knowledge of Statutory and GAAP accounting principles for BMA, Cayman, and US entities.
