The Team:
The Accounting/Finance team is responsible for protecting the Company's financial assets, mitigating financial risks and reporting the financial position of the company to business stakeholders. The department is comprised of four main pillars: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Accounting, Treasury & Inventory Control.
The Opportunity:
The Director of Accounting is responsible for all the accounting, controlling and compliance operations of the company, ensuring a consistently timely and accurate period-end closing reporting of the company's financial results, in accordance to the Group's IFRS reporting standards.
This role oversees the functions of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Accounting. The Director of Accounting will partner closely with the FP&A team for fullest alignment on accounts and process flow treatment between Actuals and Budget assumptions.
Partner cross-functionally, within the organization, as well as with external business partners, on various project management and identification of areas for synergies and process automation for increased efficiency.
All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

About the Role:
- Oversee the Accounts Payable Functions
- Supervise to ensure invoice and payment processing flow is most optimal, in terms of efficiency, accuracy and full compliance to company policies
- Optimization of functionalities of systems in place - SAP (accounting system), Coupa (procurement platform), Concur (travel and expense reporting), Kyriba (Treasury platform)
- Maintain best practices by partnering with internal control/operations/retail, on company policies
- Administration of the Concur travel systems
- Manage all tasks for month-end close, all expense bookings to be completed by D+1, along with accruals for incurred not yet invoiced expenses
- Closely manage aging of payables to ensure timely payment of all suppliers and employees
- Ensure alignment of expense treatment to that of the group's chart of accounts and in close partnership with FP&A team to have consistency with actuals & budget assumptions
- Oversee the Accounts Receivable Functions
- Oversee the flow of orders, shipping status, payment collection, account reconciliations and management reporting pertaining to the wholesale business, made up of boutiques and concessionaires within 3 divisions
- Regular review of accounts' credit limits against DNB report and payment history to assess any risks
- Bad debt reserve calculation; Return reserves calculation
- Work closely with division heads to review accounts' performances in terms of payments timing, credit rating, returns level to support metrics-based decisions
- System reconciliation between wholesale system (Cegid, WMS) and accounting system (SAP)
- Align AR processes cross-functionally (i.e., Treasury for payment receipts, FP&A with sales reporting) within the department
- Oversee the General Accounting
- Perform monthly account analysis and reconciliations of each Balance Sheet account
- Review and approve month-end journal entries relating to payroll, commission, inventory, prepaid, accruals, reserves, and deferred
- Oversee Fix Assets accounting
- Oversee Inter-company reconciliation
- Coordinate cross-functionally (i.e., FP&A, Treasury, IT, HQ) to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data (sales, payments, inventory) reported between systems, SAP and Cegid
- Oversee the preparation and renewal of all required business licenses, property taxes, commercial rent tax
- Manage various internal and external audits (mid-year, interim and annual financial audits, property/CRT tax, 8300, lease agreements)
- Perform inventory controlling in retail stores in partnership with Inventory Control team
- Management of special projects as required upon by business needs
