Chileda's mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with cognitive and behavior challenges. Chileda's goal is to help students increase their appropriate social behaviors and develop independent living skills through an enriched learning environment and individualized behavior programming. We are now accepting applications for Direct Support Professionals.
Summary:
Our Direct Support Professionals Improve the Quality of Life for the students we serve. You help them by playing with them and engaging in recreational activities, community outings and with a lot of imagination. Working with our students is not a job, it's an opportunity to help truly change lives! No prior experience is required, and all training is company paid! At Chileda you'll find supportive co-workers who are there to help you out when you need a hand, and you'll find a great company culture of teamwork. We also have great staffing ratios; you'll work with 2 or just 1 student.
Status Info:
We will be offering Part-Time and Full-Time positions to support your best life over the summer months. Full time positions come with Chileda's generous benefits plan. Positions start at $20.00/hr. with differentials for weekends and 3rd shift.
Requirements of Summer Only
- Must be able to work a minimum of 24 hours per week.
- Must be available to work every other weekend and rotating holidays.
- Must be able to start and complete orientation and mentorship by the end of June.
Skills: Empathy, compassion and a desire to keep learning.
Job Duties Include:
- Having fun with the students!
- Use a Trauma Informed approach when communicating with students.
- Demonstrate patience when students are experiencing challenging times.
- Model and teach appropriate social skills together with the students.
- Record behavior data and record goals and communication logs for assigned students each shift.
Education Requirements: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency and be 18 at time of hire.
