Direct Support Professional I - Community Health Educator - Seven Hills Foundation

Overview

The Community Health Educator will be responsible to facilitate group counseling to the population at the area Houses of Corrections.  This position will be stationed at the Dartmouth House of Corrections.

The salary range for this position is $22 to $28 per hour, based on experience and education

This position also includes a Sign-on Bonus of $3,000!

Responsibilities

Facilitate groups on Health promotion and disease prevention for high-risk populations as deemed necessary.

Participate in the design and preparation of program activities.Provide direct client services including Opioid overdose education, Substance use education, STI screenings and testing, & Naloxone trainings.

Collect data, maintain program records, and submit reports.Attend project staff meetings.

Conduct Group Level Interventions.

Referrals to health care, behavioral health care, recovery resources, social services, etc. Communicate with community organizations and agencies about program activities.All other duties assigned by the supervisor, his/her superior or the designee of either party.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in a relevant field or 3 years’ applicable experience.

Knowledge/experience in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention services and substance use and abuse issuesSound ability to work with all populations in an empathetic, comfortable, and non-judgmental mannerStrong organizational skills

Ability to work as part of a team, take direction and remain flexibleDemonstrated skills in community education and organizingFamiliarity with health-related and social issues faced by high-risk populationsKnowledge and experience providing educational outreach in public settingsValid Driver’s license, ability to drive and means of transportation

Travel to other cities and towns is required
