**Job Summary:**
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) Overnights part-time position based in Watertown, CT involves providing habilitative assistance and care to clients in various Agency programs. This role includes supervising and assisting clients in their daily living activities, developing individualized plans, monitoring progress, and collaborating with other staff and agencies. The DSP Overnights will ensure client safety, record-keeping, and promoting client well-being.
**Responsibilities:**
- Supervise clients to ensure their safety, well-being, and whereabouts at all times.
- Aid in creating and executing individualized plans for clients.
- Assist and instruct clients in adult daily living activities.
- Monitor client progress and promptly report any incidents of mistreatment or neglect.
- Document incidents and medication errors.
- Implement approved behavioral plans and emergency procedures when necessary.
- Follow therapist recommendations for client care.
- Organize recreational and community activities.
- Partner with staff, families, schools, and agencies.
- Maintain accurate records of services and client progress.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and in-services.
- Administer medications, provide healthcare, and first aid.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of program sites and vehicles.
- Transport clients to activities and programs.
- Conduct and partake in emergency drills.
- Manage petty cash and client cash on hand accounts accurately.
- Perform other duties requested by the Program Director or Assistant.
**Qualifications:**
- Completion of Medication Certification Program.
- Completion of PMT, CPR, and First Aid training.
- Possession of a valid CT driver's license with a good driving record.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years working experience with individuals facing developmental or behavioral challenges preferred, or a similar combination of education and experience.
**Skills:**
- Proficient in reading, interpreting, and writing reports and correspondence in English.
- Basic mathematical skills for calculations.
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
- Physically capable of standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, and lifting up to 75 pounds.
- Strong communication skills for interactions with clients, staff, and stakeholders.
- Ability to observe accurately with close vision.
**Work Environment:**
The work environment may have moderate noise levels and could involve traveling by automobile, potentially exposing employees to varying weather conditions.
