Who Are MV Advancements?
MV Advancements is a non-profit organization whose mission is to help individuals with developmental disabilities live life to the fullest! We put people first in everything we do, and we are always looking for new and innovative ways to enhance our services.
What are Direct Support Professionals Responsible For?
We know that life looks a little different for everyone, some more than others. We also know that those differences do not have to stop someone from building a life they love! Everyone has their unique version of a fulfilling life, and Direct Support Professionals are here to make that a reality! By working together with the individuals supported and with the rest of the support team, DSPs build supports and meet needs in real-time.
At Home
MV Advancements has 5 group homes that we staff 24hrs a day. These homes have between 3 and 5 residents each, with varying levels and types of support needs. Supports could be:
- Partnering with individuals to set and achieve goals
- Accompanying an individual to their horseback riding class
- Preparing and serving meals
- Keeping a clean and welcoming home environment
- Ensuring that all medical and hygiene needs are being met.
- Building lifelong friendships!
In The Community
MV Advancements recognizes that having a community is so very important to living a fulfilling life. To support the individuals we serve to thrive in the community, we take a person-centered approach! That means that working as a part of a tea, our staff work one-on-one with individuals to identify how they want to connect with the community and build the bridge to get them there. Supports could look like:
- Building community-based skills goals
- Advocating for the individuals we support within the community
- Identify opportunities to improve physical and social integration into the community
- Maintain the health and wellbeing of supported individuals
- Adapt and flex with the daily changes and challenges of community integration
- Going on adventures!

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Qualifications
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to pass a criminal background and drug screen
- Valid driver's license
- 2 years of driving experience and a satisfactory driving record
- Ability to pass all employer-provided trainings and certifications such as CPR/first aid
- Passion for working with people with developmental disabilities
Salary
Hourly pay for Direct Support Positions ranged from $14.50-$16.75 based on position offered and experience. Some positions are eligible for a shift differential or sign-on bonus.
