ADT: Direct Services Provider (DSP)
Adult Day Training Manager
Hourly, Not Exempt
Part time: 12:00pm - 4:00 pm
Provide the expertise, knowledge, and skills necessary to organize and supervise Loveland Center participants in the classroom, on campus, and/or in the community.
Direct service professionals must be age 18 years or older and possess a valid Florida driver's license.
Using a curriculum, educate, encourage, and empower participants to reach their goals through hands-on Practical Skills Training as they apply to everyday life. Services are to be provided on campus as well as in the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fully adheres to Loveland Center's Code of Ethics and Unifying Values.
- Maintain professional standards of the highest quality with regard to health, safety, classroom management, and public relations.
- Acquire and maintain a proficient level of technical skills as applied to job requirements and industry standards.
- Within the designated area of instruction:
- Design, develop, and implement an age-appropriate curriculum, utilizing state-of-the-art teaching methods and materials. Including computers, iPads/tablets, various applications as well as written and unwritten materials.
- Develop an individualized implementation plan with input from each assigned participant.
- Work within prescribed individualized implementation plans and behavior plans for each participant; monitoring progress and giving input on setting annual goals.
- Maintain an individualized record for each assigned participant documenting attendance, goal(s), current level(s) of functioning, plan(s) for attaining goals, and any progress made in accordance with the Medicaid Waiver Handbook.
- Document each participant's daily and monthly progress and contribute information to be included in quarterly and annual summaries to the Adult Day Training Manager.
- Assign duties to and supervise volunteers in the class.
- Understand and provide instruction related to all aspects of applied academics, including but not limited to reading, writing, and arithmetic.
- Role model for and guide participants in understanding and developing good work habits and social skills.
- Attend in-service programs and staff meeting(s) as required for effective planning and programming.
- Supervise participants during the morning assembly program, lunchtime, and other scheduled activities/events as assigned by the Adult Day Training Manager.
- Transport participants as assigned by the Adult Day Training Manager.
- Participate in training to ensure state-mandated training/ annual continuing education requirements are met and First Aid, HIV, and CPR certifications are kept current.
- Maintain/keep all equipment in a safe and good working condition.
- Perform all other duties not specifically identified, as assigned by the Adult Day Training Manager, Chief Operating Officer, or President/CEO.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that would normally be met by a DSP to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, a DSP is regularly required to talk, hear, and see; frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands. The DSP is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; as well as stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that a DSP would encounter while performing the essential functions of their jobs. Primarily, a DSP is subject to indoor conditions and subject to low to moderate noise levels with periodic disruptions in routine and is also subject to various outdoor settings.
