PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Direct Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, contracting, and purchasing materials, equipment, services and supplies from vendors to ensure stable flow of goods and services. The Direct Procurement Specialist works in collaboration with the category manager and operational departments to execute global category strategy within the region.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Executes Segments and Global Procurement strategy for the Americas region.
- Continuously drives savings, demand bundling; standardization, initiation, support, and promotion of Make-or-buy decisions.
- Assists with the market analysis process with market knowledge, e.g., know-how about Products, markets, and suppliers, carrying out scouting (e.g., innovations, new products)
- Manages KPI scorecard under the direction of the Procurement Category Manager.
- Produces an analysis and/or a KPI scorecard and provides useful recommendations for improvement.
- Identifies, evaluates risk (lead time, capacity, material prices) and when required escalates to Global Category Manager.
- Executes RFx activities (=Request For proposal, Request For information, Request For quote etc.)
- Documents and keeps current all Direct Procurement processes for the Americas region
- Clarifies and documents of all procurement relevant master data (supplier and material) for the Americas region
- Works closely with cross-functional teams to keep them up to date on order status, changes, and delays.
- Issues, tracks, and manages Purchase Orders for products and services in direct support of business requirements.
- Executes and implements vendor contracts in collaboration with category manager and contract manager for direct procurement including NDAs, MFAs, MSAs, Ts&Cs, etc.
- Other duties as may be required or assigned.
REQUIRED TRAINING (TYPE / DURATION / FIELD / ADDITIONAL TRAINING)
- A bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or Engineering is required.
REQUIRED RELEVANT PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE (TYPE / DURATION)
- 1 - 3 years of relevant work experience required.
OTHER SPECIALIZED SKILLS
- Experience using an ERP system (i.e.: SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- APICS or similar certification a plus Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, is required.
- Mandarin, German, or Spanish language skills a plus
The salary range for this position is $66,000-84,000 per year.
