Job Title: Controller
Location: Denver, Colorado Metro Area
Work Schedule: 4 Days On-Site, 1 Day Remote
Compensation: $135,000 - $155,000 base salary plus performance-based bonus

Position Overview
Our client, a growing company in the Denver Metro Area, is seeking a Controller to manage all accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, implementing internal controls, and providing financial insights to support decision-making. The candidate will work on-site 4 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards, maintaining strong internal controls.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports to provide insights to senior leadership for decision-making.
- Collaborate with the finance team on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic financial planning.
- Manage financial audits, working closely with external auditors to ensure accurate and compliant reporting.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure tax compliance by managing tax filings and other regulatory requirements.
- Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Controller or senior accounting professional.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience managing month-end close processes, financial statements, and audits.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence senior leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary ranging from $135,000 to $155,000 per year, depending on experience.
