Job Purpose
The Global Technology & Innovation (GTI) Director of the Project Management Office (PMO) plays a pivotal role in spearheading GTI's strategic projects, ensuring they are delivered effectively, and operations run efficiently. This individual will oversee the project management team, guaranteeing that project requests are clearly understood and delivery promises are fulfilled. Additionally, the Director PMO will formalize the PMO's structure, offer project management support to various teams within the GTI organization, and lead significant programs. They are also charged with developing standardized processes to maintain consistency and enhance efficiency across all projects.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Develops and implements PMO structure and policies, and directs project management staff
- Defines and manages project portfolio, ensuring alignment with business strategy.
- Applies discipline in approving new project commitments, leveraging capacity planning tools to make data driven decisions.
- Oversees the full project management life cycle and resources to execute projects within defined timeframes and budgets.
- Monitor project outcomes for quality and adherence to project management standards.
- Facilitates communication between project teams and stakeholders, implementing and maintaining required processes including an optimized and effective escalation process.
- Defines and supports centralized program/project health dashboards to provide accurate and clear metrics to relevant stakeholders.
- Improves the efficiency of red/yellow project reviews to ensure prompt resolution of issues.
- Identifies and mitigates risks across projects to ensure successful outcomes.
- Provides leadership, motivation, and support to project managers and teams.
- Recognizes and addresses gaps in processes, resources, and skills to enhance project efficiency.
- Implement best practices, tools, and techniques for project management and staff development.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Understands and adheres to all corporate policies including but not limited to the ACI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Computer Science/Engineering or related field and/or related experience
- Minimum 10 years project management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- Proficient in project management software and other supporting tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA and Confluence.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other Microsoft products (e.g: Teams, Copilot)
Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)
- Master's degree preferred
- Previous work experience in the Banking, Finance or Technology domain preferred
- Project Management Certification such as PMP preferred
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate project managers and teams.
- Project Management: In-depth knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders and team members.
- Problem-Solving: Proficiency in identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Decision-Making: Ability to make informed decisions that will benefit the projects and the organization.
- Financial Acumen: Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial management within projects.
- Risk Management: Skills to identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure project success.
- Change Management: Capability to manage and adapt to organizational changes affecting projects.

- Occasional travel may be required, domestic or international
