Intertek is searching for a SeniorDimensional Control Surveyor to join our Industry Servicesteam in our Houston, Texas office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in Industry Services!
This role involves performing and overseeing survey activities, ensuring precision, and providing technical guidance to junior surveyors. The Dimensional Control Surveyor will play a key role in enhancing the quality and efficiency of surveying processes while upholding safety and compliance standards.
The Dimensional Control Surveyor will be working within a successful and growing team that specializes in providing Survey Services which cover multiple business lines, including Dimensional Control, Land Survey, Laser Scanning, Mobile Scanning, Metrology Scanning, 3D Modelling, Drones, Robotics, Advanced Geophysical Mapping and Geotechnical, also access to Non-Destructive Testing, Technical Inspection Services and Engineering and Software.
How you'll make an impact at Intertek:
- Operate effectively within a survey team with minimum supervision
- Carry out all aspects of Dimensional Control and Laser Scanning (as required within general survey work activities)
- Prepare survey drawings and reports, using Auto-Cad, Excel, and Word
- Operating as a Dimensional Control Team Leader; Train and assess trainee personnel
- Perform and check piping spool/routing surveys
- Structural Surveys both on and offshore
- Jacket/Topsides and Modular Pipe Rack surveys
- Clash checking
- Reconnaissance and review of possible work for providing written feedback to Management for establishing Proposal information for Clients
- Review and comment on Client Procedure, Drawings and Tolerance Specifications
- Direct/perform simple DC surveys and projects
- Liaise with client representatives and draft and check simple project final reports
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- 5 years' of survey experience is required
- Experienced with various forms of survey technology including; Topography, GPS, Laser Scanning, and 3-D Calculation and Drawing software
- Ability to execute most tasks including surveying, calculations, drawings, and related survey reports
- Competent in operating a Laser Scanner
- Must be comfortable in written and oral communication skills and well organized
- Must be prepared to travel 50% of the time
- Mid-level knowledge of Dimes, AutoCAD, Excel, and Word is required
