The National Western Stock Show is seeking a Digital Marketing Coordinator to assist in leading the strategy, communication and execution of our day-to-day digital marketing platforms, communication and activities. Ideal candidates will be creative, engaging self-starters with enthusiasm for learning and taking on new challenges.
Overview
As the Digital Marketing Coordinator, you will report to the Senior Director of Marketing & Public Relations, supervised by the Creative Director, and work with the entire staff to help achieve the organization’s vision and mission.

Roles & Responsibilities
Social Media Responsibilities
- Develops and executes professional, accurate and engaging social media communication for the NWSS, Rodeo All-Star, and day-to-day social media activities on multiple platforms.
- Composes engaging content, promotions, and campaigns for use across platforms in partnership with departments throughout the organization.
- Demonstrates an understanding of social media visual intellect by creating visually appealing imaging, designs, and videos.
- Generates and oversees content schedule for social media, analytics, strategy and research.
- Manages the day-to-day social media platforms to meet marketing goals, increases the reach of the NWSS and Ag community, and continues relevant content throughout the year.
Digital Newsletter Responsibilities
- Designs and creates daily and weekly content for the NWSS digital newsletter year-round.
- Utilizes excellent writing skills to create professional and informative content about NWSS, Rodeo All-Star, and industry news & highlights.
- Generates and maintains email campaigns, schedules, and subscribers lists.
Communication & Professional Writing Responsibilities
- Uses strong editorial communication skills in various styles of writing, to include blogs, social posts, website descriptions, digital newsletter content, ticket sales announcements, and other promotional collateral.
- Constructs AP-style press releases, media pitch stories, and news articles.
- Works with the marketing and creative team to construct attention-grabbing headlines and communication for the NWSS and Rodeo All-Star.
Design/Graphic Responsibilities
- Creates digital and print graphics, event programs, flyers, and promotional collateral.
- Edits images, logos, etc. to create a unique and cohesive design.
- Works with the marketing and creative team to construct attention-grabbing marketing designs and graphics.
Additional Responsibilities
- Works with NWSS staff on Colorado Gives Day campaign, including profile page, look & feel, support mission, NWSS website, donations, fundraising efforts, etc.
- Works extended hours each January and some weekends throughout the year.
- Attends NWSS events to engage with community members and capture content.

Required Experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in multiple social media platforms (Facebook, FB Stories, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, IG Stories, YouTube, Snapchat, TikTok, etc.). Knowledge of Hootsuite or similar social media management programs.
- Knowledge of Content Management System - Constant Contact or similar e-newsletter programs.
- Understanding of design applications (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, etc.).
- Experience using professional writing styles, grammar, and language, including proofreading and editing.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Exhibits strong organizational, time management, and customer service skills. Capable of managing schedules, working under deadlines, and working with the NWSS team as a whole.
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Stock Show and/or agriculture.
- Working knowledge of Asana project management software and Dropbox storage
- Bachelor’s degree in business communications, marketing, or other related business field.
Physical Demands
National Western Complex is a multi-purpose indoor and outdoor commercial and agricultural complex where dusty conditions and animals may exist. While performing the duties of this job, work is performed both indoors and outside in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind, and rain, as well as on varied surfaces. Our employees must be able to work indoors and outdoors with regular and prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures, must be comfortable working at heights and be able to work around moving machinery and equipment.
In this role, incumbent will experience prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Incumbent must be able to lift 15 pounds and access/navigate the National Western Complex in its entirety, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Scheduling Requirements
While the schedule for this position is primarily Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, there will be certain occasions in which early morning, late evening, weekend, or holiday availability will be required to perform the essential functions of this position.
Like almost all NWSS team members, this position will need to be on-site every day during Stock Show, typically for 12-16 hours at a time.
Compensation & Benefits
- This is a full-time salaried/exempt position.
- Compensation range to start at $55,000 annually; salary offered will be dependent on relevant experience.
