Overview
The Digital Copywriter concepts and writes engaging copy that maintains and evolves the overall Shane Co. brand voice as it appears on ShaneCo.com. and other digital platforms. As a key player of the eCommerce and Marketing teams, the Digital Copywriter collaborates with other team members in design, development, user experience, digital merchandising and other marketing/advertising stakeholders to ensure that copy drives business objectives and assists the user experience. The Digital Copywriter is part of the Copy Team.
Responsibilities
- Writes, edits, and manages copy for ShaneCo.com, including homepage headlines and body copy, gift guide and special pages copy, and UX/UI copy.
- Writes copy for digital advertising channels, including PMAX, Meta, etc.
- Serves as lead copywriter for video, which includes writing scripts, supers, and captions for YouTube, TikTok, etc., as well as assisting Copy Director with video voice casting, recording scheduling, and attending recording sessions as needed.
- Concepts video ideas, helps the storyboarding process, and writes copy for TikTok in partnership with creative team.
- Partners closely with Content Team copywriters to increase alignment between content and eCommerce.
- Self-proofs their own copy during proofing phase of each asset.
- Stays up to date on industry activity, including following competitors on social media and signing up to receive their emails; lives and breathes the digital copy space; understands the nuances between digital platforms (TikTok vs. Instagram; organic vs. paid).
- Manages and organizes workload and deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of successful digital copywriting at a consumer brand, including writing for TikTok.
- Demonstrated understanding of the nuances of customer-facing copy and the difference between headlines, body copy, and calls to action, as well as the difference between brand, campaign, and marketing copy.
- Understands the nuances of copy between channels, most importantly UX/UI, eCommerce, and TikTok.
- Basic understanding of video copywriting process (including script writing), social media marketing, and search engine optimization.
- Ability to speak to the “why” behind copy, and how it meets and exceeds brief expectations.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of social media platforms and trends.
- Demonstrated editing and proofreading skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to produce quality copy under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to take creative direction constructively.
- Ability to concept creative ideas and complete through execution.
- Utilizes data to optimize copy for best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with cross-departmental stakeholders to ensure alignment of campaign assets across channels.

Work Environment
The primary environment for this role is a remote workspace provided by the employee. Considerable business is conducted using the telephone and computer technology. Travel may be required to stores, Home Office, conferences, or events up to 5% of the time.

Base Pay range for this role is $70,000 to $88,000/annually, which applies to this specific role. Your placement in the range is determined through interviews, a review of experience, knowledge, skills, balanced pay with other team members and alignment with geographic market data. Home office base pay ranges are based on the Denver market. We target most new hire offers toward the lower end of the listed range, but more demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills may result in a higher starting rate.
Beyond Base Pay: Home office positions are eligible for consideration for an annual bonus, based on total company performance. Amounts vary by role and are based on a percentage of eligible earnings for the fiscal year.
