Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Digital Communications Strategist is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing high-quality digital marketing strategies and content to promote brand awareness, engage audiences, and drive sales for the Nashville Symphony. The role includes a focus on video production and editing to enhance our online presence and reputation across various platforms, such as email, website, and social media channels.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Marketing and Communications team, along with the Development, Education and other departments to design and execute comprehensive digital marketing strategies that align with the organization's goals.
- Conceive, generate, execute and edit engaging video and other storytelling digital content to drive ticket revenue, support fundraising, showcase education and community initiatives, and extend the reach of the Nashville Symphony brand.
- Possess exceptional writing, editing and communication skills, with a strength for storytelling and the ability to create compelling and engaging content.
- Work with the Marketing and Communications teams and external agencies to create content and copy for all paid social media campaigns.
- Have an eye for design and detail, as you work closely with the graphics team to create compelling content and ensure consistent branding.
- Assist the Graphics team with routine content updates to the website and build email communications to segmented audiences.
- Oversee and grow the organization’s social media presence, ensuring content is timely, relevant, and strategically aligned with organization, marketing, and communications goals. Monitor and manage social media and other digital conversations on an ongoing basis and respond appropriately and timely.
- Coordinate with Marketing to implement and monitor SEO and SEM strategies to maximize visibility and traffic.
- Plan and manage digital campaigns, track performance, and adjust strategies based on analytics and feedback.
10. Coordinate with Director of Analytics to establish meaningful KPIs and analyze digital marketing activities. Compile regular reports to show trends and provide insights and recommendations for the organization.
11. Use project management software (e.g., Monday.com) to plan and create a social media calendar across current and future digital platforms.
12. Along with Marketing, engage with guest artist’s management/teams and partner organizations to coordinate content across appropriate Nashville Symphony digital platforms.
13. Keep a finger on the pulse of the organization’s day-to-day and long-term schedule to develop posts that demonstrate the Nashville Symphony’s role as Music City’s ambassadors of classical music and that differentiate us from other area entertainment options. Highlight the organization’s local, regional, national, and international relevance and unique contributions to orchestral music.
14. Track emerging technologies and trends in current and emerging social media, digital marketing, and content creation.
15. Other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
Essential Experience: Three to five yearsof experience in digital marketing, with a strong focus on content creation, digital strategy and video production. Proven track record of managing, growing and engaging online audiences and creating digital campaigns. Experience with a symphony orchestra or other performing arts organization is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Strong understanding of current digital marketing tools and strategies.
· Experience managing website content using open-source content management systems, such as Umbraco,
· Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
· Experience with paid social media advertising and content creation tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite.
· Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines.
· Ability to work creatively and analytically in a team-oriented environment.
