About the Job
The Office of the Illinois Lt. Governor is seeking a Digital Communications Specialist to join the communications team as a contractual employee. This position may be based in either Springfield or Chicago.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with all departments to bring awareness to the Office of the Lt. Governor's portfolio and initiatives
- Manage, develop and oversee social media strategy, content and calendar
- Develop social media campaigns to uplift the work of the Office of the Lt. Governor and its agencies
- Content creation and execution for the Lt. Governor's social media platforms, including the use of photos, graphics, statements and video
- Assist in the creation of visual graphics and videos for online platforms
- Creation and maintenance of photo and video archives
- Consistently apply detailed fact-checking and research to all assignments
- Leverage measurement tools to provide progress reports, while continually finding ways to improve on those metrics
- Monitor relevant news and social media trends and appropriately implement and/or respond
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience as a social media manager or a similar role (minimum 1 year)
- Experience in creating social media strategies (minimum 1 year)
- Knowledge of best practices for social media platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
