The primary purpose of this position is to assist First Commerce in fulfilling our Vision to be our member's financial partner for life. This is achieved through delivering remarkable member service as defined by our service standards and building and maintaining strong member relationships through identification of member's financial needs and effectively recommending appropriate products and services to meet those needs.
Job Duties:
- Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of non-lending products and services, and their policies/procedures offered by First Commerce Credit Union. These are including but not limited to checking, share, Money Markets, CDs, IRAs, bill pay, all Gift/Travel cards, safe deposit and debit cards.
- Identify member's spoken and unspoken needs utilizing all tools provided by the credit union such as ACS and new member profiles. Effectively recommends appropriate products and services to meet those needs as well as opens the deposit product account.
- Responds to all messages and requests within 4 hours.
- Pursues opportunities for professional growth and knowledge through training, education and self-study.
- Performs all job responsibilities of a teller
- Greets all members and visitors promptly when entering the credit union; provides applications and brochures to people waiting for their appointments; sets appointments and answers phones; acts as a liaison for platform staff; and answers basic account questions
- Assists in member file maintenance requests; such as address changes or other related account information; re-pins and orders debit cards, sells Liberty gift cards; Unlocks frozen home banking accounts and resets the home banking passwords for members; assists members with their accounts on the lobby computers.
- Assists members in and out of the Safe Deposit Box area
- Initiates wire transfer for members; processes stop payments; processes refunds and charged fees
- Orders checks and temporary checks; orders check copies; and prints out statements upon request.
- Notarizes documents for members
- Assists member in loan payoff quotes; provides rate quotes and rate sheets to members
- Demonstrates functions of the ATM to members on request; assists with setting members up for direct deposit
- Provides assistances on automatic maturity on CD's and SEP withdrawals
Other responsibilities:
- Drive sales and success through service and ensuring a positive member experience to achieve sales and referral goals.
- Will perform job duties in accordance with policies established by the Board of Directors under the rules and regulations set by the National Credit Union Administration and State of Florida any applicable State laws for financial centers located in other States.
- Complies with BSA, OFAC, and CIP requirements such as checking names against OFAC for new deposit or loan relationships and issuing cashier checks.

- Adheres to First Commerce's policies, procedures including those specific to one's department
- Attends meetings as required; reports to work on time and as scheduled; adheres to facility dress code.
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
REQUIRMENTS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
- A minimum of 18 months of teller experience either at a bank or credit union or 12 months teller experience and 6 months of customer service experience;
- Displays "remarkable" member service 100% of the time; displays a positive "can do" attitude towards members, team members, and the credit union organization;
- Meets job responsibilities of the teller position including balancing standards.
