Position Summary: The Digital Access Coordinator works with the Digital Equity Program Manager on all aspects of AgeSpan's digital equity initiative. The Coordinator works in the communities of the Merrimack Valley and North Shore to help older people and people with disabilities learn to use technology to access health and wellness programs, telehealth appointments and social connections. The Coordinator provides 1:1 training and small group instruction on technology basics, distributes devices, and provides technology training aids and data plans for eligible individuals. The Coordinator also supports other AgeSpan outreach initiatives, including monthly food distribution programs, community education, and health promotion programs.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as key resource in the community for older people and people with disabilities and health conditions interested in learning to use technology and access additional supports and services.
- Act as a liaison with community partners to further the agency's goals for better access to digital information and opportunities.
- Provide technology training and support one-on-one or in groups to older adults and adults with disabilities to use a tablet to get online:
- Teach technology basics - how to power up tablet device, access the Internet, and navigate programs (Zoom, email, other common applications)
- Provide technology aids and reference materials
- Provide in-person or telephonic support to consumers to troubleshoot access
- Promote agency programs and services at meetings with community partners, at health fairs, etc.
- Assist other agency outreach projects as needed, such as staffing food distribution program (including unloading boxes and filling individual grocery bags) and community markets, assisting at vaccine clinics or with vaccine outreach and education, and staffing health fairs, etc.
Qualifications
- Associates degree, 1-2 years related work experience preferred.
- Excellent computer skills and comfort navigating various types of hardware (particularly tablets) and software. Skills to include:
- Fluency in computer terminology, troubleshooting techniques
- Accessing and troubleshooting network, Bluetooth, routers, Wi-Fi
- Setting up email, including navigation through application purchase, account setup, and installation
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Extensive outreach experience; excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Flexible, able to juggle different tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Enthusiastic about working in a social services agency to improve the lives of older adults and adults with disabilities.
- Willingness to learn new skills as needed for position.
- Ability to lift 30lbs repetitively (as food programs require lifting grocery boxes).
- Willingness to travel throughout agency service area.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation a must.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
