Position Overview
A leading Hospital for Children is seeking an experienced pediatric Clinical Registered Dietitian (RD) to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for pediatric patients in the Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition. In this role, you will deliver comprehensive nutrition care, education, and guidance to patients and families, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Nutrition Assessment & Diagnosis
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for pediatric patients.
- Diagnose nutrition-related problems using the Nutrition Care Process.
- Nutrition Intervention & Monitoring
- Develop and implement targeted nutrition interventions.
- Monitor and evaluate patients’ nutritional status and adjust care plans as needed.
- Patient & Family Education
- Educate patients and families on nutrition plans, ensuring thorough understanding of dietary guidelines and treatment objectives.
- Provide resources and support to promote adherence to care plans.
- Team Collaboration & Professional Development
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to establish and maintain comprehensive patient care plans.
- Participate in ongoing education programs for hospital staff, community groups, parent groups, and professional organizations.
- Performance Improvement & Research
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Participate in research activities aimed at improving clinical nutrition practices within the hospital.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education & Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited institution.
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credentialed through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- Pennsylvania State Licensure (LDN) must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian.
- Pediatric clinical experience preferred (or strong interest in pediatrics).
- Advanced Certification
- Advanced degree or specialty certification (CSP, CNSC, CDE, CLC, CSO, IBCLC) required or to be obtained within 12 months of hire as approved by the Director of Clinical Nutrition.
- Maintenance of Credentials
- Must maintain all required credentials, professional development portfolio (PDP), and licensure in good standing.

- Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients, parents, and staff.
- Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment to optimize patient care.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional growth.
