Dietary Supervisor Job Description

Our company is growing rapidly and is hiring for a dietary supervisor. Please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications. While this is our ideal list, we will consider candidates that do not necessarily have all of the qualifications but have sufficient experience and talent.

Responsibilities for dietary supervisor

• Supervise dietary personnel.

• Assure process of menu ordering through delivery of meals and snacks to post meal activities meet department standards

• Assure all residents meals are presented well and meet the residents standards

• Motivate, reward, discipline, and evaluate employees under span of control

• Monitor and refines processes that lead to increased unit efficiency and enhanced resident comfort and care

• Assure regulatory processes occur and are documented as designated

•  Managing operational aspects as it relates to the procurement, storage, and serving of foods and supply items

• Supervises Nutritional Services personnel when preparing patient trays

• Supervises dish room procedures ensuring that proper techniques are utilized and that established procedures and standards are maintained

• Maintains quality control measures to ensure temperature, attractiveness and palatability of food

Qualifications for dietary supervisor

• Experience in food service  with progressive supervisory and managerial responsibility

• Ability to read, write, and speak English in order to communicate, document practices, write evaluations and provide direction and instructions

• Experience in areas of responsibility that include the demonstration of successful customer service relationships and effective interactions with residents care teams, managers, Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants and Nursing Administration

• Ensures food is prepared, cooked and portion size is per established policy
