Job Summary: Sunshine Terrace is dedicated to providing compassionate care and support to our residents. With a commitment to excellence, we prioritize the well-being and comfort of those we serve. We have an immediate need for a PT Day Shift Cook.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, dietary requirements, and portion standards.
- Ensure that all meals are nutritious, appetizing, and meet dietary guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and food storage areas.
- Monitor food inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
- Collaborate with dietary team members to plan menus and accommodate special dietary needs.
- Assist with special events and catering services as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Cook in a similar setting, preferably in healthcare or senior living.
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and ability to accommodate special dietary needs.
- Understanding of food safety principles and regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively.
- Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Overall Scheduling Needs
- We pride ourselves in being able to reasonably accommodate our employees scheduling needs. In general, Shifts can range from 5:30 am to 1:00pm and from 1:00 pm to approx. 7:30 pm. Our staff understands that our residents need 24/7 care and are willing to work holidays and weekends on a rotating schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Being on time. Absenteeism and late arrival to shifts are not tolerated.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Several months of related work experience.
- Willingness to learn and be trained.
- Requires Food Handlers permit or "ServSafe" certification within one month of hire.
- Requires excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
