About the Job
The Dietary Manager plans, organizes, develops, supervise, and directs the overall operations of the Dietary Department to ensure daily provision of quality nutritional services in accordance with all applicable laws, and regulations.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage dietary employees – scheduling, hiring, performance management etc.
- Ensure the quality of food by testing cooked food for taste, temperature, and smell.
- Ensure menus are served as written and approved by Registered Dietitian.
- Review care plans as necessary to assure that the resident's dietary needs are being met.
- Plan and direct dietary staff to prepare and serve high quality food on time and at proper temperature for meals and snacks
- Ensure that the resident's diets are prepared and served accurately at meals and snacks
- Order food, supplies, and equipment for food preparation, and staying within the budget for the department.
- Complete nutrition documentation timely and accurately.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM), or Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP)
- Graduate of an approved dietary management course
- Must have a minimum two (2) years’ supervisory experience
- Previous long-term care experience is desirable. Prior experience in Geriatric Food Service preferred. Prior management experience preferred.
