Position Summary
Responsible for preparing food in accordance with applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations and our established policies and procedures. You will be preparing meals for all youth and staff (Approx. 45 individuals) at the center, determining weekly menus, ordering and supervising the correct stock rotation to ensure all needed items for meals is on hand, and maintaining high sanitation and safety standards. The successful candidate must have or be willing to obtain a certification in Serve Safe.
The shift will be for Lunch & Dinner Monday through Friday 10:30am – 6:30pm.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Determine and review menus in preparation for meal services.
- Prepare food in accordance with applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations and our established policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the efficient and accurate delivery of food to residents.
- Assists in the distributing of resident meals during dining experience.
- Processes diet changes and new diets as required.
- Completes necessary forms, reports, etc. in order to ensure smooth operations of the dietary department.
- Works closely with the staff and nurses in order to implement necessary changes to the resident dining experience.
- Assists in the inventory and storage process of incoming foods, supplies, etc. and works to maintain accuracy and organization in this process within applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations and our established policies and procedures.
- Responsible for assigned cleaning duties in compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Reports allegations of abuse/neglect and reports, as appropriate, to proper organization leadership.
- Reports hazardous incidents, including but not limited to, injuries, equipment, etc. to the appropriate Manager/Supervisor.
- Implements and follows disaster plans in the event of an emergency.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- 21 years of age or older
- High School diploma/GED
- Serve Safe certification or willing to obtain.
