Summary
Prepares and Cooks family style meals for residents and employees of the facility by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Cooks food in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served. Washes dishes.
- Cooks food according to recipes.
- Prepares cooks and serves food according to different diet orders.
- Bakes breads and pastry. Cuts meats.
- Serves meals.
- Store leftover food items in refrigerator and freezer date and label all food items.
- Follows cleaning schedule.
- Wear hair nets at all times.
- Informs supervisor when a food item or kitchen supply is running low.
- Maintain personal hygiene of self and uniforms.
- Maintain clean work area.
- Wear gloves at all times while handling any food.
- Document freezer and refrigerator temperature.
- Prepare and/or pull food needed for the following day.
- Clean and sanitize work area after using.
- Cleans equipment according to departmental schedule.
- Keep records, i.e. inventory, meal counts. etc., as well receiving deliveries and giving records of delivery to the Dietary Supervisor.
- Directs activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.
- Follows and enforces the use of sanitary regulations governing handling, preparation and serving of foods.
- Follows and enforces guidelines for the wearing of personal protection equipment during usage of cleaning supplies.
