The Citadel of Skokie is seeking a Dietary Aide to join their team! The Dietary Aide is responsible for serving residents’ meals and cleaning routines for the dietary department. At this facility, this is a collectively bargained position under the union
Dietary Aide Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance on a timely basis.
- Serves food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
- Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Sweeps and mops floors as directed.
- Washes and cleans utensils as directed.
- Sets up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Dietary Aide Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must be able to keep up in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow sanitation process and maintain cleanliness standards
Dietary Aide Education and Experience:
- Experience operating an industrial dishwasher and the sanitation process of the kitchen, preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
- Experience in industrial food production preferred.
- Prior experience working in a long-term care facility a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
