Calvert Manor Healthcare Center is currently recruiting for FT and PT Dietary Aides. Dietary Aide's cover both day and weekend hours. The Dietary Aide will perform a variety of tasks, including food portioning, beverage and nourishment preparation and serving, working the tray assembly line, delivering food carts and nourishment, cleaning, dish washing, emptying trash, and stocking. Every other weekend is required, and long-term care experience is preferred.

Dietary aides perform a variety of tasks, including preparing food for the cooks, preparing beverages and nourishment's, working the tray assembly line, delivering food carts and nourishment's, cleaning, dish-washing, emptying trash, and putting grocery orders away.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND DUTIES
1. Assists cook in preparation of meats, vegetables, and other food items.
2. Prepares salads and desserts, using standardized recipes, proper portion size, and menus.
3. Prepares beverages according to residents' dietary orders.
4. Prepares and assembles nourishment trays; delivers trays according to established time schedule.
5. Wraps breads for meals.
6. Assists with set up of tray line; works tray line.
7. Delivers food carts to resident wings according to established time schedule.
8. Retrieves food carts from resident wings.
9. Washes pots and pans.
10. Works as part of dishwashing team.
11. Wraps silverware and lines trays for meals.
12. Ensures silverware and dishes are restocked and ready for tray line.
13. Empties trash; keeps loading dock clear and safe.
14. Cleans equipment and work area according to daily cleaning schedule.
15. Reports repair and maintenance needs to Dietary Manager.
16. Stocks food and supply items and disposes of boxes in dumpster.
17. Uses safety and sanitation standards correctly.
18. Assists with preparation of food for special events.
19. Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1. The ability to read, write, and speak English is required.
2. The ability to push and pull food carts up to 22 pounds of force is required.
3. The ability to lift weights up to 30 pounds is required.
4. The ability to work independently and as a team is required.
5. The ability to stand and walk short distances for extended periods of time is required.
6. The ability to reach, stoop, and bend is required.
7. Fine hand coordination is required.
8. The ability to withstand heat and cold is required.
9. The ability to follow directions, verbal and written, is required.
10. The ability to treat residents with kindness, respect, and consideration is required.
11. The ability to work at a pace to adhere to strict time schedules is required.
12. The ability to ambulate throughout the facility is required.
13. Prior experience in a dietary operation is preferred.
