Job Title: Dietary Aide
The candidate will work under the direction of the Director of Culinary Services, this position is responsible for the quality of service delivery during meal service, compliance with special diets offered by the community, and for communicating with management on all appropriate matters. Above all, you will exhibit a passion for serving seniors while contributing to the positive environment our residents are proud to call home.
Responsibilities:
● Support the development of positive customer service culture in the dining room under the direction of the Director of Culinary Services.
● Take beverage and food orders, deliver food and beverage orders, clear, clean, sanitize and reset tables.
● Washes and inspects all dishware and glassware.
● Stores clean utensils, dishes and glassware in proper places.
● Keeps the dish washing machine and dish room in clean operating condition.
● Promptly reports any malfunctions or breakdowns of equipment to Director of Culinary Services
● Delivers ice to dining room
● May deliver meals to residents in their apartments, when necessary.
● Make every effort to maintain customer satisfaction. Resolve any challenges brought to your attention by those dining before the conclusion of the meal. Make the Director of Culinary Services aware of any challenges.
● Maintain a clean dining room.
• Shows initiative, performs beyond job responsibilities, and involves themselves in a teamwork approach.
• Communicate effectively with management, co-workers, residents, families, visitors, and other disciplines.
• Adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, worker safety and other emergency procedures.
● Maintain resident confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA policies.
• Seek out and perform other duties as assigned or needed.
• Understands the mission of Homeplace is to ensure quality care and services are being delivered to ensure each day is the best day possible.
Qualifications:
• Must have compassion for and desire to work alongside our aging population!
• Previous experience in food service or other customer-service related fields preferred.
• Obtain Food Handlers Permit (as required by state regulation)
• Strong written and verbal communication, personnel skills, and community relations skills are essential.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
