About the Job
We are seeking a part-time Dietary Aide (21 hours per week) to assist the Program Leaders at the Cornerstone Adult Day Health Center located in Fall River, MA. The hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
The Adult Day Health Dietary Aide shall assist the Program Coordinator with the day-to-day food services while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor the temperature of foods to ensure safe serving practices of hot and cold foods, and document in the food log prior to serving.
- Check and document refrigerator and freezer temperatures daily. Calibrate the thermometer used to check food temperatures weekly.
- Wash tables before and after meals
- Prepare sandwiches for clients who desire an alternative to the day’s meal or for field trips.
- Clean after food service, including loading the dishwasher, washing pans and other serving utensils, putting all dishes and pans away, washing all kitchen surfaces to maintain cleanliness guidelines, and cleaning kitchen and activity floors.
- Routine and as-needed cleaning:
- Weekly cleaning of the interior of the stove and refrigerator.
- Monthly washing and dusting of appliances.
- Report any damage to kitchen items or appliances to the Program Coordinator immediately
- Maintain a list of foods, paper products, and ER supply stock needed to be purchased and given to the Program Coordinator as directed.
- Ability to provide services outlined in this job description at any of the three Adult Day Health sites as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
- Respond to the reasonable expectations of the Agency and/or supervisors.
Education and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must be able to work with others as part of a team and communicate effectively,
- Experience working with the elderly or disabled preferred.
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
