About the Job
Delhi Post Acute is seeking a motivated and reliable Dietary Aide to join our dedicated team. As a Dietary Aide, you will assist with meal preparation, delivery, and kitchen sanitation. You will play a vital role in ensuring residents receive nutritious and timely meals. This role reports to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor and requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn food service routines quickly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn and follow food service routines quickly.
- Set up meal trays and assist with meal service to residents.
- Strip down returned trays and assist with washing dishes.
- Monitor and record chlorine concentration and water temperature for the dishwashing machine at the start of each shift.
- Operate the dishwasher and ensure cleanliness of all kitchen equipment.
- Prepare nourishments and snacks as directed.
- Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Carry out trash and garbage, ensuring safe disposal.
- Organize and store groceries safely and cleanly.
- Clean work surfaces, refrigerators, and maintain a sanitary environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and orientation for dietary staff.
- Work in harmony with team members across departments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a food service role is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to read and follow recipes, technical procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Must obtain and maintain a food handler's certificate.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing and walking.
- Occasional sitting and reaching with hands and arms.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and pushing/pulling.
- Ability to work in various physical conditions, including lifting and cleaning.
- Good vision for close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

- The noise level is generally low to moderate.
