Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Technician to join our team, specializing in the repair and maintenance of commercial buses. The Diesel Technician will be responsible for performing comprehensive repairs and preventative maintenance, ensuring all work is done efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards. Additionally, the technician will provide support to customers both in person and through remote or virtual consultations, advising on necessary repairs or maintenance, ensuring equipment operates according to manufacturer specifications, and maintaining detailed service documentation to support both in-shop and virtual interactions. Candidates must have a modern smartphone with an active internet connection to efficiently manage orders and assignments through the company app. Proficiency in navigating mobile applications, digital platforms, and app-based workflows is essential for seamless task execution and communication.
Job Specifics
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in commercial buses, ensuring all systems are functioning properly.
- Perform engine rebuilds, routine maintenance, and inspections to ensure optimal performance of buses.
- Work with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, as well as complete brake repairs and other system-related issues
- Conduct preventative maintenance tasks to ensure buses are ready for safe and reliable operation
- Test bus performance and identify areas needing repair or replacement.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines while performing repairs.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation of work performed.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in diesel repair and maintenance, specifically for commercial buses.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
Experience
- ASE certification in Diesel Mechanics or related field.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Over 5 years of experience in diesel repair, including experience with commercial bus systems
- Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues.
- Experience in fleet management and working with a variety of commercial buses
