Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel mechanics and be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on various types of diesel vehicles and equipment. The Diesel Technician will ensure vehicles are safe and operational, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of our fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on diesel vehicles and equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in diesel engines
- Perform preventative maintenance to reduce the likelihood of vehicle failures
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs and vehicle status
- Adhere to safety regulations and procedures during all maintenance and repair activities
- Test and evaluate vehicle systems using diagnostic equipment
- Repair and replace hydraulic components, tires, brakes, and other systems as needed
- Work on engine and transmission repairs as required
- Technical training in diesel mechanics or a related field
- Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or similar role
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Familiarity with safety regulations and lockout/tagout procedures
- Experience with diagnostic testing and record keeping
- Valid driver's license and legal eligibility to work
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment testing and drug screening
- Positive attitude and determination to solve problems
