Diesel Mechanics Needed in Tuscaloosa! - Gpac

Gpac is currently working with a very well established national company that is looking to add several Diesel Mechanics to the team in and near the Tuscaloosa area. The ideal candidates are self starters who take pride in the quality of their work, and are capable problem solvers.

Mobile Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities:

• Performs basic diagnostics and both major and minor repairs.
• Accomplish electrical system repairs.
• Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Efficient worker able to deliver quality repairs in a timely fashion.
• Team player and people person who can communicate effectively with customers and personnel.
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly manner.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations while executing work assignments.
• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
• Accounts for all time on a time card and for all material used in performing assigned duties.

Mobile Diesel Mechanic Qualifications:

• 3-5+ years of Diesel Mechanic experience
• Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical and electrical with the ability to learn multiple engines.
• Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
• Capable of operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift at least 100 lbs. repeatedly.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Basic Service Technician certification preferred.
• Highly qualified candidates may possess additional skills including welding, fabrication, towing experience, CDL, forklift certification.
