Diesel Mechanic - Interstate Companies

Interstate Power System’s is looking for Diesel Mechanic/Technician(s) of all skill levels for our Waterloo Iowa location. We are currently seeking Diesel Mechanic/Technician(s) to join our team who are specializing in Freightliner, Detroit, Allison, Cummins, CAT products, MTU and more! We are offering highly competitive wages!

Pay Range: $24.00-$38.00/hour DOE

Sign on Bonus of up to $5,000.00 DOE

Diesel Mechanic/Technician Job Duties:

• Responsible for repairing, maintaining diesel engines and diesel components used in various vehicles and diesel equipment.
• Accurately and efficiently diagnose complex diesel engine conditions and make necessary repairs.
• Communicate effectively with peers, foreman, and service team regarding those repairs.
• Quality control work performed to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
• Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion.
• Meet requirements for certifications.

Diesel Mechanic/Technician Requirements:

• Valid Driver's license (Bonus compensation for CDL holders)
• Must possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude, and be reliable.
• Experience with Detroit Diesel and other diesel engine platforms such as Cummins, CAT, & International are a plus.
• Other mechanical skills desired but not essential: Hydraulics, Brakes & Suspension, Manual Transmissions, Drive Train, and Automatic Transmissions.

• Technical degree or certification a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have own set of general tools.

Diesel Mechanic Desired Skills/Qualities:

• Solid written and verbal communication skills
