Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of hands-on experience working with semi-trucks, diesel pickups, and various types of heavy equipment within a fleet. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment to ensure they run safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on semi-trucks, diesel pickups, and heavy equipment within the company fleet.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and expertise.
- Troubleshoot and repair key systems such as engines, transmissions, suspension, and braking systems on diesel vehicles and equipment.
- Conduct inspections to ensure all vehicles and equipment meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance performed.
- Collaborate with the fleet management team to prioritize and schedule repairs and service.
- Comply with company policies and OSHA safety regulations.
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet deadlines and ensure maximum equipment uptime.
- Help maintain a clean and organized shop environment.
Qualifications:
- 7-10 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, working on semi-trucks, diesel pickups, and heavy equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience diagnosing diesel engine problems.
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, technical diagrams, and schematics.
- Experience working with electrical systems, fuel systems, and air systems in diesel engines.
- Ability to perform both minor and major repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
- CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and at different heights.
- Ability to kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods.
