Diesel Mechanic-Nights (Pavement Marking) - PK Contracting, Inc.

$27-35/hr----

Over $30/hr requires a CDL A (we provide CDL A Training Options)

Diesel Mechanic 

During our time of growth, we are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic (Night Shift). This position will require at least 1 weekend shift in addition to Monday-Friday. Night shift 4pm-4am. 

Diesel Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities:

• Service and repair diesel engines, brakes, hydraulics, electrical, mechanical, and air; front and rear suspensions.

• Analyze and tune engines through the use of engine analyzer, ignition analyzer, injector pump tester, and coolant

• Diagnose all failures of equipment, remove and replace parts as necessary, and repair any and all mechanical and electrical issues that arise.

• Repairing and replacing damaged or worn parts on all equipment.

• Operating and inspecting equipment to diagnose defects

• Diagnosing faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.

• Demonstrate integrity and ethics.

• Performs all necessary vehicle repairs as assigned

• Maintains a safe, clean, productive and efficient work

• Identifies and reports any repairs found to be necessary whether or not previously Indicates any necessary repairs that are above current qualification level.

• Records time spent, parts used, and repairs on the appropriate forms provided as each activity is completed.

• Ensures compliance of work and work area with appropriate state and federal regulations regarding equipment and equipment

Diesel Mechanic Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a heavy equipment/diesel shop

• Experience with engine, electrical and hydraulic repairs

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability.

• Ability to understand and execute verbal and written instructions.

• Must be cooperative and show initiative towards improving skills.

• Must have own tools

• Ability to work productively with minimal supervision.
• CDL A Preferred but not required
• Successful candidates will pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
  
  

In season work hours: 6 days a week (ample overtime)

Off-season work hours: 5 days as week, no weekend work
