Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have mechanical knowledge and experience in vehicle & equipment maintenance, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will work on a variety of equipment, machinery, and vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
Responsibilities
- Mechanical Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in a wide range of equipment, machinery, and vehicles. This includes performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and conducting necessary repairs to ensure proper functionality.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, lubrication, and adjustments, to prevent breakdowns and maximize equipment lifespan. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and report any major issues or repairs needed.
- Safety Compliance: Adheres to strict safe work practices to comply with all Company, DOT and OSHA regulations. Identify potential hazards and take appropriate measures to mitigate risks in the shop environment.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels of necessary supplies, tools, and equipment. Coordinate with the supervisor to ensure an adequate stock of items required for repairs3.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, modifications, and fabrication projects. This includes documenting parts used, labor hours, and any other relevant information.
- Collaboration: Coordinate and communicate effectively with other team members, including mechanics, supervisors, and project managers, to ensure smooth workflow and completion of assigned tasks.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid CA driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record to remain eligible for this position
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Have a strong diesel mechanical troubleshooting aptitude and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong knowledge of processes and equipment.
- Familiarity with shop tools, equipment, and measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
Experience
- Diesel engine repair: 5 years (Preferred)
- Mechanical knowledge: 5 years (Preferred)
Job Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $28.00 to $34.00 DOE
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8-hour shift
Work Location: In-person, Murrieta, CA
