About the Job
Key Responsibilities:
- Crane Operation & Inspection: Operate cranes and perform detailed inspections to detect any defects.
- Diagnosis & Repair: Diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot a variety of mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes, focusing on both hydraulic and electrical components.
- Component Examination: Use micrometers and gauges to inspect parts for damage or excessive wear. Read and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately.
- Testing & Compliance: Test mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic systems after repairs or modifications to ensure they meet OEM specifications.
- Job Preparation: Verify parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness before starting tasks.
- Annual Inspections: Conduct comprehensive annual inspections of cranes.
- Documentation: Complete all necessary reports, including work logs, timesheets, and expense reports, with accuracy.
- Independent Work: Perform tasks independently without the need for direct supervision.
- Customer Service: Deliver excellent customer service.
- Additional Duties: Take on other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED with at least two (2) years of experience as a Crane Mechanic/Technician. Preferably, experience with various mobile cranes such as Grove RT & TMS Cranes, Grove GMK European Cranes, Manitowoc EPIC and Traditional Cranes, and National Boom Trucks.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills with a focus on customer and client satisfaction.
- Licensing: A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record is preferred.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills are preferred.
- Tools: Must have a full set of hand tools up to 1.5 inches.
