Starting pay rate is $30.00 per hour, higher depending on level of diesel mechanic experience. Local candidates only.
The Diesel Mechanic will be able to inspect and troubleshoot equipment and perform necessary repairs after diagnosis. Primary job focus includes inspection, diagnosis, and repair of diesel-powered vehicles and machines, like trucks, forklifts and trailers. The Diesel Mechanic will possess in-depth knowledge of diesel engine systems, components, and their unique characteristics, thus allowing them to diagnose and repair issues specific to diesel engines.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Be able to inspect and troubleshoot equipment, then perform repairs after diagnosis.
- Knowledge and application of electronic diagnosis programs such as Cummins Insite, Ford FDRS and IDS, and Wabco and Bendix ABS.
- Possess basic Excel experience.
- Have experience in maintaining tools.
- Operate efficiently and with high focus and attention to detail.
- Have knowledge in writing safety and maintenance department procedures.
- Good communication skills with equipment operators, vendors, and more.
- Demonstrate flexibility to move from one job to another based-on priority
- Conduct field visits in case of fleet emergencies or malfunctions.
- Be willing to work overtime as business load requires.
- Willing to participate in shop provided training.
- May assist warehouse staff with pulling and preparing orders for shipment, as well as receiving, verifying, staging, and stocking all incoming material.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:
· Communication skills to speak with customers by telephone, email, or in-person.
· Strong knowledge of health and safety standards.

· Ability to repeat the same or similar tasks multiple times per day.
· Excellent time management skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Knowledge of basic math and computer skills.
Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent.
3+ years of proven experience in commercial vehicle operation.
· Diesel mechanic certification preferred. ·
CDL preferred.
· Clean driving record.
· Must pass a background check and drug test.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
· Possess great physical stamina and focus during long driving shifts.
· Comfortable with long-haul transport.
· Able to operate an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
· Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles.
· Alert, focused, and detail oriented.
· Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs. at a time.
Expected Work Hours:
· Monday – Saturday with early and extended hours required according to workload.
