Hours:Monday-Friday or Tuesday- Saturday7 am to 3: 30 pm, 8 am to 4: 30 pm, or 10: 30 pm to 7 pm
Position Description: An employee who primarily functions in the Service Department to perform diagnosis and repairs in all areas of Daimler products.

Position Description: An employee who primarily functions in the Service Department to perform diagnosis and repairs in all areas of Daimler products.
- Be prompt and ready to work at start time.
- Review repair order –verify all information on the repair order.
- Perform work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform repair limited to one-hour diagnostic time, then advise foreman.
- Utilize OEM diagnostic software and troubleshooting procedures.
- Open informational cases with Detroit, Cummins, Eaton, Allilson, etc.
- Identify all needed parts for proper repair using Excelerator or related engine parts software.
- Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts with service counter authorization.
- Save and tag parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Examine assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or 18 point inspection.
- Communicate with foreman immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promise time.
- Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order through-out the day and definitely before leaving for the day.
- Understand and comply with one repair per line item and one PFP per line on RO.
- Write a clear description of the repairs performed noting the cause of failure and primary failed part. Always remember the 3C’s: Complaint, Cause, and Correction.
- Make sure vehicle is locked outside and keys tagged and returned to key board in tech room, unless instructed otherwise.
- Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
- Keep abreast of manufacturer service publications & finish on time.
- Ensure that customer vehicles are kept clean. Notify service foreman immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicles.
- Perform shine responsibilities everyday according to Elite shine maps.
- All failed part disposition identified at end of job-same day.
- Maintain and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools, manuals and laptops. Return them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received. Notify foreman if anything is broken or damaged.
- Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Notify supervisor of any defects of malfunctions.
- Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with Federal, State and local regulations, such as, hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
- Report any safety issues immediately to management.
- Any overtime must be approved by your supervisor.
- Any shop time must be approved by your supervisor, complete indirect labor form.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Job requires constant bending, twisting, and lifting to 120 pounds.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or Technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Within one year of hire, must complete Systems Certification for Daimler Trucks and Detroit Diesel Engines. Complete Elite Dealer training.
- Technician training program available for all skill levels- Beginners, A, B & C Techs. Instructor-led Led Classes available to further knowledge & experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operation maintenance instructions, and technical procedures. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
- Ability to read and understand the Employee and Health and Safety manuals supplied by Fleet Maintenance, Inc.
APPEARANCE:
- All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
