Job Details:
- Job Title: Diesel / Heavy Equipment Mechanic
- Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt.
- Location: 3175 Lake Shore Rd. Buffalo, NY 14219
- Reports To: Operations Manager
- Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm or 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm.
- Compensation: $21-29/hr, based on experience & skills
- Purpose: The purpose of this position is to service and repair on-road and off-road heavy equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on all diesel vehicles, and heavy equipment such as material handlers, loaders, excavators, forklifts, etc.
- Troubleshoot and repair all types of diesel engine machines.
- Diagnose and repair heavy machinery (excavators, forklifts, skid steers).
- Repair, replace, recondition, disassemble, weld, and examine parts and engines.
- Maintain inventory of tools and supplies.
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
- Comply with all company safety measures and government regulations.
- Communicate with drivers and customers with a professional attitude.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years diesel mechanic experience.
- A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (over 50 pounds).
- Squat and kneel.
- Bend and twist as appropriate.
- Sit/Stand for long periods at a time.
