Job Description:

As a Diesel/Heavy Equipment Mechanic II, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy-duty vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Skills and Requirements:

• Repair and maintain heavy-duty transportation equipment
• Utilize a variety of hand tools, precision instruments, and power tools
• Conduct thorough inspections of brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other components to ensure functionality
• Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, battery checks, and equipment lubrication
• Expertly adjust and reline brakes, align wheels, and reassemble equipment
• Diagnose malfunctions through test drives and inspections Safely operate maintenance equipment and hand tools while adhering to company policies and procedures
• Monitor equipment and tools, reporting any malfunctions promptly
• Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols
• Handle mounting and dismounting of truck and trailer tires
• Complete assigned duties efficiently and effectively

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in heavy equipment and diesel engine repair
• Valid and current California driver’s license
