About the Job
Summary
This Die Corrector position is responsible for setup, repair (correction) and cleaning of dies used in the manufacturing of aluminum extrusion products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Proficient use of inspection tools, such as micrometers, calipers, protractors, pin gauges, etc.
2. Proficient operation of milling machine, grinders, and other shop equipment.
3. Shine and polish tools, verifying bearing condition and squareness.
4. Assemble dies and tooling for extrusion operations in prescribed manner
5. After extrusion, disassemble tool stack, moving tooling to storage area, and dies to caustic area.
6. Process dies and tools through the caustic and cleaning areas, determining dies which require repair, polished or just storage.
7. Nitride dies and tools as prescribed.
8. Inspect incoming dies for compliance to design tolerances and Company requirements.
9. Analysis of extrusion and die performance data, leading to the correction or change in die to improve die performance.
10. Maintain documentation on repairs of all dies and tools through the use of digital cameras, scanned document, word documents and Epics
11. Complete paperwork on a daily basis in a legible manner
12. Follow all job related work instructions
