If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Dialysis Nurse Educator. We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Dialysis Nurse Educator to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to train and educate hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis nurses and technicians in Texas and New Mexico.
The Kidney Care Center has two clinic locations in Lubbock, TX and Hobbs, NM. We offer Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis for patients. Our clinics are open Monday-Saturday. Closed on Sundays.

Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive educational programs for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis nurses and technicians.
- Conduct classroom-based and hands-on training sessions to enhance the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals in dialysis care.
- Create educational materials, including presentations, manuals, and instructional videos, to support the training programs.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in dialysis care and incorporate them into the training curriculum.
- Collaborate with the management team to assess the training needs of healthcare professionals and develop appropriate educational plans.
- Provide ongoing support and mentorship to nurses and technicians to ensure their continued professional development.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the training programs through assessments and feedback from participants.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, including attendance and performance evaluations.
- Provide patient coverage in both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis when needed.
Requirements:
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Texas and New Mexico.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a dialysis nurse, with proficiency in both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
- Strong knowledge of dialysis equipment, procedures, and treatment modalities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Proven experience in developing and delivering educational programs, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel within Texas and New Mexico to conduct training sessions at various healthcare facilities.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft OFFICE, WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT.
Duties Include but not limited to:
- Maintaining current accurate educational material for the hemodialysis technician training program.
- Teaching and detailed record keeping of theory and clinical education per Texas and New Mexico state regulations.
- Clinical training of new licensed vocational/practical nurses and registered nurses and patient care technicians.
- Research and composition of policies and procedures for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis units.
- Quality improvement tracking and reporting to New Mexico and Texas state hemodialysis End-Stage Renal Disease Networks.
- Auditing and organization of electronic employee files.
- Complies with all HIPAA regulations.
