Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Dialysis Care Technician (DCT) you will deliver high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety patient care services related to treating patients in need of renal replacement therapy including all types of dialysis. Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, you will deliver patient care while providing emotional and physical comfort to the patient.
- You will deliver and stage dialysis equipment to patient location for all in-unit treatments
- You will assist Registered Nurse with preparing patient for dialysis
- You will be responsible for staging, removal, and cleaning of dialysis equipment, performing safety checks and operating dialysis equipment
- You will assists in the collection of specimens for diagnostic tests and ensure accuracy of all labels and timely transfer of specimen
- You will assist patients with basic needs, mobility and transportation
- You will obtain and record patient information throughout the cycle of care, including admissions data and vital signs
- You will be responsible for recording information in patient medical records
- You will maintain close communication with physicians, nurses and healthcare team members regarding changes in a patient’s care and condition
- You will monitor supplies levels in your unit and patient rooms and restock as needed
What qualifications you will need:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician
