This position assists the Diagnostic Medical Physicist in performing diagnostic machine quality assurance (QA), radiation safety related tasks associated with the use of radioactive materials, and other assignments necessary to help demonstrate compliance with regulatory and accreditation commitments. This position is not responsible for providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities
+ Performs radiation safety audits and surveys.
+ Manages radiation protection garment inventory and inspection.
+ Maintains instrument and equipment calibrations.
+ Assists with handling of nuclear medicine patient survey/waste.
+ Performs other duties as assigned by the MIPRS Director.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
+ Demonstrated attention to detail and analytical skills.
+ Ability to perform detailed measurements using modern, sensitive instrumentation.
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
+ Demonstrated ability to provide clear and professional written/verbal communication.
+ Demonstrated accountability for work, taking ownership for quality, and timeliness of work.
Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Physics, Mathematics, a scientific field, or a closely related field.
