As a DevOps Software Engineer, you’ll collaborate with the DevOps and Software Development teams to design, implement, and maintain reliable systems and infrastructure that enable software delivery in support of scientific research.
This role demands expertise in Python, JFrog Artifactory, GitLab CI/CD, and Windows administration within a highly secure, air-gapped environment.
You’ll also document complex concepts and processes clearly and concisely for diverse audiences.Essential Duties:Administer and troubleshoot CI/CD infrastructure on open and air-gapped networks.Manage and maintain JFrog Artifactory repositories, ensuring smooth operation and security.Develop and document robust systems for securely transferring software between environments.Identify and implement continuous improvements in DevOps practices, emphasizing the unique needs of software engineering.Write and maintain high-quality documentation tailored to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Collaborate with developers and IT staff to maintain reliable integration and deployment infrastructure.Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) automation and administration efforts.Participate in Agile team activities to support iterative problem-solving and project delivery.Required Skills: Proven ability to communicate complex concepts effectively, both in writing and verbally, to a range of audiences.5+ years of experience in software development, including at least 2 years in DevOps, release management, or similar roles.Proficiency in Python programming and packaging.Expertise in managing and troubleshooting JFrog Artifactory.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Experience with GitLab CI/CD infrastructure.Solid understanding of Windows system administration, particularly in CI/CD contexts.Familiarity with scripting languages like Bash or PowerShell.Required Education: B.S.
in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.Special Requirements:U.S.
citizenship.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance as required.
This is an on-site position due to the need to work with air-gapped networks and sensitive information.
Compensation:The base salary range for this full-time position is $145,745 - $186,688 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for the position.
